Breakdown Blues is the third episode of the second season.

Synopsis

Life on the road is not easy, particularly for Butch the humble breakdown vehicle, who is not fond of drawing attention to himself. Following an unfortunate breakdown, Butch becomes very frustrated as his friends become increasingly less helpful.

Plot

Butch is a breakdown truck, helping rescue broken down cars and trucks. He talks to the Pack about his work, but he also reflects that working on rails wouldn't be too bad. However, Rheneas has an accident, and Butch goes to help him. Unfortunately, Butch ends up breaking down himself. Max and Monty arrive to joke about his dilemma. They turn him down for help and then head off to the quarry. Bertram also makes up a poem about Butch, and he too points out the irony of Butch's predicament. Harold sees Butch and goes to get help, but while Butch is waiting for Harold to come back, Isobella crashes into him. Butch is disappointed, but his driver lifts his spirits by saying that laughter is the best medicine, and assures him that his friends were just enjoying their time with him.
